Under Dark Skies
Several of our educational activities across all locations in Arizona, Chile and Hawai‘i focus on observations of the night sky and its phenomena, such as constellations, lunar phases or the planets. These “Dark Skies” activities teach awareness of important issues like light pollution. Decreasing the amount of light pollution in your neighborhood and city by installing appropriate lighting results in increased safety, energy savings, and health and environmental benefits, too (like being less confusing for migratory birds).
