On October 8, John Huchra, a major contributor and participant in AURA activities, passed away. John was the Member Representative from Harvard, member of the Board of Directors 1996-2003, member of the AURA Executive Committee predating the Board of Directors, Chair of the Board of Directors 2000-2003, member of the Space Telescope Institute Council 1994-1998 and at present, member of the Nominating Committee 2005-2007, Chair of the Membership Committee 2006-2009, Chair of the NOAO Director Search Committee 2000, Chair of the Future of NOAO Committee 1998, and a constant source of wisdom and guidance to AURA.
